Idiyappam

Idiyappam is a 'Chettinad' dish. Exceptionally famous in Tamil Nadu. It's a very light dish that can be taken at any part of the day. As its only steamed, it is also good for our health.

Ingredients :

Rice Flour - 2 cups
Hot Water - As required to mix the flour
Salt - As required

Method :

Put little rice flour in a vessel and sprinkle little salt. Pour hot boiling water just enough to hold the dough. Put the dough in the Idiyappam maker and press it on the idly plates. [It will fall like noodles] Repeat the same procedure for the remaining rice flour. Add hot boiling water each time to prepare the dough. Steam in the idly maker for five to seven minutes.

Remove the Idiyappam and serve hot with Vegetable Kurma or Sweet Coconut milk.
